Carlos Ulberg calls out the winners of the lower brackets after co-headlining UFC London against the former UFC Light Heavyweight Champion, Jan Błachowicz. UltraFocus seems to have a bigger ego than required, thinking that beating ex-UFC champions is reason enough to garner global recognition.
“A win against Blachowitch was a good feather in my cap,” Ulberg said, “but I don’t think it places me in front of champions like Ankalaev or Pereira, let alone his saber-rattling that’s been going on.”
Now, UFCs headline boxer seems to be in a pickle. If he takes Ulberg’s calls to switch gears and focus on strikes, it could knock him out of the fight spot rotations.
This mix of high and low is exactly what makes fighting moves so exciting, and for every hater of amaeture fighters out there who loves diving roundhouses on world class, well, they can sit and judge fighting.
“I guess the division will be mine if Pereira chooses to give me the match in a couple of months,” said Ulberg.
At that point, the best the division could do with champions dropping like flies is watch them.
“Everyone calls me black jag,” said the light heavy weight champ in his response, “but I haven’t vertebrate clawed a single guy yet.”
