The professional wrestling industry was stunned when CM Punk marked his return to WWE in 2023 at the Survivor Series.
Following one of the more tumultuous break ups in company history, it was widely believed that Punk would never set foot in WWE again. However, after his controversial relationship with AEW turned sour and Vince McMahon exited the WWE, a few things started to shift.
Punk and Triple H had apparently reconciled the past decade worth of animosity around Thanksgiving of that year. This led to the “biggest return in wrestling history” when CM Punk’s entrance theme “Cult of Personality” blared on the speakers of Allstate Arena just outside of Chicago.
Unfortunately for Punk, he eventually got injured, which meant missing out on Wrestle Mania throughout 2014 to 2023.
