Streameast is dedicated to safeguarding your information. This policy is written to assist you understand what potential information we may gather about you and how we intend to utilize the same.

This privacy policy is meant for any individual who makes use any of the services of Streameast offered online including but not limited to the Streameast website, program, and software applications that permit you to access, watch and listen content on your device.

Streameast does not change address of datas that the user has entered themselves in the relevant form. Such modification shall be performed by the user.

1. Definitions

In this Policy, the following terms shall have the following meanings:

*A Data Controller* refers to a person or company, while working individually or together with others, directly or indirectly, engages in the activity of Data Processing and Determines the purposes and means of the Processing.

*The Data Processor* means a person or company that carries out the act of processing Personal Data for the benefit of the Data Controller.

Data Protection Law for these Terms means in particular Regulation (EU) 2016/679 of the European Parliament and Council on April 27, 2016, concerns the protection of individual’s. 
International Transfer is an transfer of Personal Data beyond the boundaries of the European Economic Area composed of member countries like European Union, Norway, Lichtenstein, Iceland and also to any international organization;
The expression Processing is understood in these Terms as each activity carried out on your Personal Data, but not limited to collection, access, modification, consultation of your Data.

2.1. Personal information we process.

Streameast may take a need to process your Personal Data in various Processing operations steps that may need to be performed. Euronews has set purposes to justify each step of Taking Process.

In attempt to provide you with the Services offered Articles on the Site, Streameast may have to process Personal Data relevant to your browsing activity on the Site such as the browsing Data or subscription Data. We retain your Personal Data for as long as there is a business purpose for its use. Your Personal Data can be kept as long as it is required to achieve the purpose for which it was processed. The retention period of your Personal Data may vary depending on the nature of the Personal Data processed, the purposes of the Processing, our legitimate interests, the exercising or not exercising of rights by you as Data Subjects, or even some legal obligations mandating us to retain it. Upon expiration of the retention period, or after your right to withdraw, erase, or object the erasure of the data has been exercised, Personal Data will be deleted. In certain circumstances, they might be rendered anonymous, meaning that it will not be possible to identify the Data Subjects anymore, which permits no longer classifying this information as Personal Data in the sense of the GDPR.

3. Specificities relating to some Processing activities

Newsletters

When you subscribe to the newsletters, you give access for your email address to be used for sending you these newsletters. In order to prevent the wrongful use of email addresses, we send you an email and ask you to confirm your email address so that you can verify your registration as part of an automated process (double opt-in procedure). The newsletters sent to you are personalized according to your behavioral data on the Site if you allow to the use of cookies on our CMP (consent management platform).

In our second interface for subscribing to the newsletters, we request you to complete a form. The optional additional Personal Data that you provide us is processed based on our legitimate interest to better understand our audience of subscribers and to build statistics.

Provided it is permitted by you via a checkbox, your email address may be used to personalize the ads displayed on our Site. We disclose your email address to one of our service providers that is considered a joint data controller and who will proceed directly to pseudonymizing them via SHA256 hashing. This means that your email will be changed into a 256-bit string that will form a unique identifier, rendering re-identification hopeless. After the hashing process is completed, our service provider will delete your email address, so you will be unable to re-identified. Our service provider generates an envelope that includes your identifier based on the hashed email address obtained through other Personal Data collected from the cookie dropped on your terminal by LiveRamp (if you have provided consent through our CMP). They store these identifiers in our first-party storage, which enables them to display filtered advertisements.

Make sure to be informed that our service partner may use your Personal Data to, among other things, undertake internal quality checks and troubleshooting, to the extent that there is a legitimate interest. In these instances, our service partner is regarded as data controller and streameast is not liable for any processing that takes place. Streameast has signed an agreement with this service provider based in the United States that includes provisions for the protection of Personal Data under the new standard contractual clauses of June 4, 2021 with the European Commission. If you wish to receive these clauses, please make a request to us.

Commenting on Articles

We allow you to comment on the articles. To comment, one of our providers has to register you and collect your Personal Data like name, email, and your browsing and connection data based on the choice you made on our CMP regarding cookies. This provider will be a Joint Data Controller with you. By using this service, you are notified that this service provider is located outside the EEA. Streameast has signed a International data protection agreement and the new standard contractual clauses of June 4 2021 adopted by the European Commission with this service provider.

Streameast has access to statistical data regarding the use of the commentary service in order to appreciate the effectiveness and relevancy of articles on the Site and may moderate comments.

Events

Streameast organizes events that you may take part in. If this is the case, you will need to register and we may hold on to your data for a period of 3 years post your last engagement in order to reach out for upcoming events. Your data will be kept at Streameast , a data processors whose servers are based in Europe. Any sensitive information provided will be destructed immediately following the event.

Polls and Surveys

Streameast reserves the right to ask questions that can be geared towards improving your experience on the homepage of Streameast. The information gathered will definitely help us serve you better by way of tailored content and advertisements on streameast.com guaranteed without limitation of privacy.

Social networks

You may disseminate our articles on Facebook, Twitter, Reddit, Messenger, Linkedin, mail, Flipboard, VK, Telegram, Xing, Meneame, Balatarin, OK, Viber, Whatsapp and other social media platforms. These social networks also have the ability to collect and process Your Data, however streameast cannot be held liable for the data that is processed by the social media platforms. Dailymotion

Dailymotion also uses its proprietary video player that serves as a separate and independent data controller. Dailymotion processes your Personal Data with the intention of creating an environment where you can encounter the optimal user experience while watching our videos. Jwplayer

For the third time, we are presenting another video player—JW Player. It may independently process your personal data, meaning that it also functions as a separate data controller. What is your personal data from the external video players and Youtube used for?

Streameast, by legitimate interest, has the right to retrieve aggregated personal data from the YouTube API, Dailymotion and Jwplayer for the purpose of creating statistics on video content and its performance. As a media, streameast is required to use external video players to publish its video content. This ensures optimal user experience. After balancing the legitimate interest stated above and the user’s fundamental rights and freedoms, we have arrived at the conclusion that our legitimate interest does not infringe upon your fundamental rights and freedoms, while this explanation will be expected by you when consuming news content on the site. Streameast does not aggregate and sell personal data with the intent to identify you nor does it engage in marketing.

The Website may contain hyperlinks to external websites which are not owned by streameast. In the event that hyperlinks are clicked on, please look to the Privacy Policy of each of those websites, as their treatment of Personal Data is not under the control of Euronews.

4. Who has access to your Personal Data and to whom is it disclosed?

The Services are appropriately managed using our internal systems and/or tools and Personal Data is accessible to them. For different types of Processing purposes, and for the delivery of Services accordingly, streameast is sometimes obliged to outsource certain functions to other service providers, and in such cases share Personal Data with those service provider companies. These service provider companies, called Data Processors, are based either in the European Economic Area or outside. Streameast has a contract for safeguarding Personal Data with each of its Data Processors regarding the security of Personal Data. If such Data Processor is located outside the European Economic Area or their functions are performed outside the European Economic Area and is not in a country having an adequacy decision adopted by the European Commission, streameast takes appropriate measures such as the standard contractual clauses of the European Commission in order to ensure an adequate level of protection of Your Data. Request can be made for a copy of the guarantees implemented.
