The University of Stanford’s general manager for Football, Andrew Luck, whose appointment was made previous month in November of head coach Troy Taylor which stands as a clear indicator of a restructure for the Stanford Football Program.

Andrew relayed the information to a local Press team by saying the following, “As football is the heart of my role as general manager, I have been trying to understand the entire Stanford football program. It became vitally clear, realigning attention needed to capture some changes and updates.

“After giving it some more thought, it is clear that our program requires a reset,” he continued. “In my meetings with university leadership, I no longer think that Coach Taylor is the right person to manage our football program. Coach Taylor has been notified today and the change is effective immediately. The search for a new head football coach is underway. Our priority continues to be in aiding our student-athletes and providing them the optimum arrangement to succeed on the field, in class, and around their peers.”

The firing comes after ESPN’s Xuan Thai reported last week that documents discovered Taylor had physically and verbally bullied a number of female staffes during his time at Stanford. ESPN pointed out that Taylor received a conduct warning in February 2024, and that several staff members submitted hostile and aggressive behavior along with personal attack complaints.

He leaves the program after two seasons at Stanford, compiling a record of 6-18 overall and 4-13 in the conference.
