Jim Nantz Says It’s Tougher to Be a Fan of Houston.

Nantz,1981 graduate, has shown up to support the team for the team’s journey to the national championship game. As was the case for Nantz, at the tournament he ‘held’ a commenator’s seat at the broadcast booth wearing a headset to do the play-by-play of the Houston games. But following his retirement from college basketball after the 2023 tournament, he’s now washed March Madness from the stands, which has been a struggle for him this year.

That has not been easy for him during this year’s March Madness as he supports Houston. The 65-year-old confessed that he believes that as a fan, the workload is far heavier than calling the games for CBS.

“I’m hopelessly in love with my alma mater, and especially this basketball program,” said Nantz.

“In advance of every game we collected a lot of information, so we brought a lecture in front of 354 NCAA tournament games and 96 Final Four games, all of those were far easier than sitting in the stands.

As we all know, Gators are not easy to handle, on Monday we expect Nantz to show the highest degree of self-control during the national championship game. His chances do not look promising, however.
