Byron maintained his position at the top of the NASCAR Cup Series standings after Sunday’s Goodyear 400 at Darlington Raceway, an event in which he dominated by leading 243 laps from the pole bench, earned two Stage Wins, and came second.
Byron now enjoys a 49-point buffer over Denny Hamlin, who has captured the past two NASCAR Cup Series races, including yesterday’s at Darlington. Christopher Bell, who holds the record of three wins this season, is placed third in the championship standings, 52 points behind with second.
