For LA’s MLS teams, it was a better week after a string of poor results. Their performance in the league may have been poor, but at least there was some success in the Concacaf Champions Cup.
Both LAFC and LA Galaxy are looking to shift some of that momentum into the points race in the Western Conference and have to play through the MLS Cup in the middle of their Champions Cup quarterfinal ties.
There is too much to gain, but also too much to lose as there is risk of injury and fatigue from playing this weekend which may affect hopes of advancing in the continental tournament.
Is LAFC able to revert back to stringent defensive form after the embarrassment from Inter Miami?

LAFC has began the season with two wins back to back, alongside a distinct defensive shape. They however seem to have lost focus, having the last 3 out of their 4 league matches.
Nevertheless, even when lack some form, they were able to hand the preeminent Inter Miami CF their first loss of the season in all competitions due to Ordaz’s stunning strike which ended in a 1-0 win.
Its true that the depth LAFC has access to does partially shield some of their renowned stars, namely Denis Bouanga, who will miss the chance. However, this is a team that has a considerable amount of depth in the center and the defensive area, and drop into a low-block Toledo, particularly as the visitors.
On the other hand, some of these have Stern head of the Roster such as: Loris for the win and put them defendable goal reliant, who has proved playmaker for the LAFC, and essence is expected to make important saves from side of Houston who lack with the ball having netted the last four goals.
After LAFC’s win against Miami, they will surely use that momentum for their next game. However, the sustained energy also needs to be filed away to complete the task against the Herons later in the week. This is important since they need to keep their position close to the top of the MLS Western Conference standings as the season progresses.
Will LA Galaxy secure their first MLS win of the season against Real Salt Lake?

LA Galaxy have performed decently in the Concacaf Champions Cup, but head coach Greg Vanney’s squad seems to be struggling in the MLS as they have only picked up two points from six matches.
Following their triumph against CS Herediano, the Galaxy put in a solid performance against Mexican giants Tigres, managing a 0-0 draw in the first leg. They sat deep and defended well while managing to create seven shots.
While the team has every reason to be optimistic heading to Mexico for the second leg, now is not the time to rest in the MLS. With Paintsil’s return, the team will be looking to bolster their flagging spirits with Ramirez’s current form of four goals in nine matches across all competitions, the team certainly needs to bolster their position in the table.
They lost 2-1 after a last-minute goal from McCarthy and a goalkeeping howler by John McCarthy. McCarthy looks to be brimming with confidence after his performance against Tigres, so they could be in for some luck.
This weekend will be crucial for the Galaxy as they seek to capitalize on what they hope is a decent spell of form, especially against a lackluster Real Salt Lake squad that relies heavily on USMNT Diego Luna.
