Troy Taylor Fired As Head Coach Of Stanford Football Team

Head coach of the Stanford football team, Troy Taylor, has been let go as per the information from Pat Forde of Sports Illustrated.

This decision, which was reported to Stanford’s General manager, Andrew Luck, was made just days after an ESPN article was published which detailed the toxic workplace behavior from the Stanford head coach. Aggravating and intrusive behavior towards colleagues was also described in the report by ESPN’s Xuan Thai. A significant portion of those who were bullied worked as his subordinates were women.

“One of the things which was pretty clear was that the program needed some changes, duh.,” Luck said to The Athletic earlier this week. “Also, there has been a lot of focus on Stanford’s investigations into something as previous as Taylor’s conduct in the last few days. It now seems clear to me that there needs to be a reset of our program. At this point, I do not think it is in the best interests of the program to have Coach Taylor run this football program.”

The 56 year old Taylor became Head Coach at Stanford two years ago after Dave Shaw had been in the position for close to a decade. During his time, he acquired a 3-9 record in both of his first two seasons.
