
As reported in a Spanish news outlet Diario AS, Real Madrid is looking to acquire Bournemouth’s 19-year-old Dean Huijsen for $65 million after he impressed while playing for Spanish youth teams during the internationals.
The publication took the liberty of assuming the headline “Operation Huijsen,” as Real Madrid flagged the player into their plans for 2026, only to be caught off-guard by Liverpool, Chelsea, and Manchester United’s interest, forcing Madrid to expedite their plans for his acquisition.
Huijsen’s brilliance this season with Bournemouth, strengthen by a decent 16 million dollar move from Juventus last summer, Cherries into unheard-of European contention. He has also earned recently capped Spain call-up.
The Dutch-born defender came on for the injured Pau Cubarsi’s replacement during the first half of the first-leg tie with the Netherlands. After catching the eye of Luis de la Fuente with a wonderful assist in the extra-time for Yamal, he went to secure a starting position with Spain.
Fabrizo Romano has mentioned that Huijsen has a release clause of 65 million dollars at Bournemouth, with several clubs already in the mix.
Nonetheless, it is claimed that Real Madrid is Huijsen’s favorite, with the young defender disclosing just the other week that Sergio Ramos is his favorite.
